Set in nine acres of mature grounds, the Glenavon House Hotel is a 3 star hotel offering first class comfort. A family owned 62 bedroom hotel, the Glenavon boasts a state of the art conference centre, Northern Ireland’s only private leisure complex and has banqueting facilities to cater for up to 500 people. 1704Adair Family came from Ayrshire during the Plantation
1750Hugh Adair died
1790Adair Family moved to Cookstown
1804Commenced spinning and weaving
1828Thomas Adair Ltd founded in spinning at Greenvale, weaving at Knightsbridge
1857Thomas bought the freehold from Mr William Stewart
1868Thomas died leaving estate to Thomas, Hugh and John Adair
1871Hugh started to build Glenavon with contractor George McCracken
1873Contractor went into liquidation
1874John Blair finished the Glenavon
1874Hugh Adair married Augusta Graves. They had six children,Augusta, Connie, Rhona, John, Thomas Louis Napoleon and Hugh.
1889Hugh helped to found Killymoon Golf Club
1916Hugh Adair died
1924Augusta died
1925Son John took over Glenavon
1966John died and the house was left to Hugh and Thomas Adair. They subsequently sold it to Richard Bell
1967Glenavon was opened as an hotel
1976Hotel sold to Norman Carmichael
1978Hotel sold to Paddy McCullagh
1982Hotel purchased by Morris Family
